 Program details

Just us every other Saturday this spring for a cozy and inclusive reading collective. We will explore topics around the neurological underpinnings of emotion regulation, sensory integration, the power of nature, and overall parenting tips and tricks to support healthy child development. Our group meets biweekly to explore a carefully selected book that delves into one or many of these topics. Whether you’re a parent, educator, or simply curious, the collective offers a welcoming space for all.

Group size limited to 10.

What to Expect

  • Focused Reading List: This spring, we’ll be reading one of the following books: Barefoot and Balanced, The Whole-Brain Child, or The Anxious Generation. These titles provide valuable insights into the science and ongoing research used to inform Everbloom’s therapeutic approach.

  • Engaging Discussion: Share your thoughts and insights in lively, respectful conversation with fellow community members.

  • Community Building: Connect with like-minded parents or caregivers who understand the unique challenges that come with parenting in this modern society and who share a similar interest in learning.

  • Flexible Contributions: This is a pay-what-you-can group, making it accessible to everyone. Your contributions will help us build a scholarship fund to provide financial assistance to families who are not able to afford therapy services.

 FAQs

  • The book will be selected by members of the Reading Collective. Once registration is complete, a poll will be sent for the group to cast their votes. Majority rules!

  • We ask that all members of the Reading Collective either purchase or loan the chosen book from their local library/Idea Exchange.

  • The book will be divided into manageable sections to read throughout the Spring - this could be by chapters, themes, or a specific number of pages. The group will agree on a biweekly reading schedule, and each gathering will focus on discussing the assigned section.

  • Yes, you can still attend a biweekly gathering even if you have not read that section of the book. While it is ideal to stay on track with the reading schedule, attending the meeting can still be valuable.

At the start of every biweekly gathering, the group facilitator will summarize the assigned section to ensure everyone is on the same page before kickstarting the discussion. You can listen to the discussion, gain insights from others, and stay connected with the group. Plus, it might motivate you to catch up on the reading!
